What is SACA ?
Scientists and Academics for Climate Action (SACA) is a group of Scientists and Academics from around the world working hand in hand with youth activists on multiple campaigns.
Aim
Our aim is to make the voices of the scientific community louder, in order to pressure governments to act on climate change and ecological collapse.
Origins
SACA was founded in 2020 by Noé Vonlanthen, a youth striker from the UK Student Climate Network (UKSCN) after several successful collaborations with Scientists in the UK and abroad.
1927-2012
“What’s the use of having developed a science well enough to make predictions if, in the end, all we’re willing to do is stand around and wait for them to come true?”
Frank Sherwood Rowland, Chemistry Nobel laureate 1995

Our successes
Although founded only very recently (August 2020), SACA’s team has already worked on different campaigns with scientists and youth activists in the past. Their succes, led to the foundation of the current organisation. They include pressuring channel 4 in organising the very first election TV-debate on climate change in 2019 and a letter of support to last year Student strikes that got signed by over 2000 academics and scientists worldwide.
