Scientists and Academics for Climate Action (SACA) is an organization that aims to build a network of scientists and academics willing to work hand in hand with youth climate activists around the world in order to pressure governments and world leaders to act on the Climate Crisis.

Origins
During the huge climate mobilisations that occurred throughout 2019, we realised that there was a kind of void between the scientific community and the youth climate activists on the street. Although calling for the same changes there were virtually no collaboration or exchange between the two groups, with the exception of a few successive collaboration like Scientists4Future in German speaking countries for example.
From this postulate and after a few successful collaborations with scientists around the world we came to the realisation that the best way to coordinate future campaigns, was to create an organisation whose aim would be to reach out to scientists and create a large network of scientists and academics willing to collaborate with youth activists on diverse campaign.
Therefore Scientists and Academics for Climate Action (SACA) was founded in August 2020 by Noé Vonlanthen, a then 19 year old climate activist from Switzerland and campaigner with the UK Student Climate Network (UKSCN), FridaysForFuture and Klimastreik.
Aim
Our goal is to create a network of scientists willing to support youth activists and work with them on diverse campaigns to pressure world leaders to act on the climate crisis. In order to complete this goal we reach out to scientists and academics around the world willing to add their voice to the one of the youth on the street and deliver a common message of action to those in power.
